"Li Chun" (立春) is the first day of spring in the Chinese lunar calendar. Chinese believe that it is the only possible day of the year to make eggs stand vertically upright.

Since I was hold up with some functions on the said day, I missed the opportunity to try out on the egg.

A day later, in order to prove that the above theory was wrong, I took out an egg from the refrigerator and left it on the table for half and hour. After that, I took the egg and tried to stand it vertically on the floor. After several attempts, I managed to make the egg stand at the position I wanted it to be. I thus jumped for joy. With this experiment, I had overthrown the theory of 'Eggs Can Only Stand Vertically On Li Chun' .

Pertang Trip

Pertang is a small town in Jelebu district, Negeri Sembilan. Recently, my father and I went there to do birdwatching. To start our day, we went to a chinese coffee shop behind the main street for breakfast.

This coffee shop is my favourite stop for breakfast because they serve good food. When we enter the shop, a lady will ask us in Hakka dialet d "oi sit ma kai" that "means what do you want to eat" and we can easily understand what she say because we are also Chinese Hakka.

They serve wide variety of food ranging from dim sum to noodle. This shop is famous for it's "Pan Mee" and their mouthwatering dim sum. A meal for two person shall not cost more than RM15.

After that, we continued our journey towards the south of Pertang. Along the way we will pass by some orchards and a Malay village until we reach our birding spot off the road. Over there, you can barely see a car pass by and you can't get telco signal here. This 28km route leads us to Batu Kikir, another town in Negeri Sembilan state.

To our surprise, more than 40 bird species were recorded in this trip. We also saw 6 Wreathed Hornbills flew above us. Some rare birds can be also found here, but must be careful of leeches, wild anmials and illegal poachers around.

The new variant is Toyota Vios G Limited, this variant will be priced between Toyota Vios G and Toyota Vios TRD. Other Toyota Vios variants are expected to go through a minor facelift. Toyota Vios TRD will get a new front grill which is similar to Toyota Belta in Japan and black leather seats.

Natural Disaster

This was my text for my talk, hope you will enjoy it.

Recently, a 9 magnitude super strong earthquake hit North East Japan, causing a 10 metres high tsunami and more than 10,000 people lost their lives. This incident shocked almost everyone around the world.

The Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant exploded and caused radiation leak towards the eastern part of Japan. This also created a lot of fear among peoples staying around that area, because too much exposure to radiation may cause cancers like leukaemia. It may also affect pregnant mothers to give birth to deformed babies.

Many people do not aware that natural disasters sometimes are caused by human. Global warming is one of the serious disasters that we are encountering now. It is caused by the greenhouse effect. Open burning and spraying perfumes are one of the causes of the greenhouse effect. As a result of global warming, the iceberg in North Pole and South Pole melt. If the earth temperature is to be raised by 2 degrees Celsius, many cities such as Bangkok and New York will sink under the sea water.

Kuala Lumpur is one of the well known cities in the world, but yet, flash floods always happen in the city. This not only causes damages to the properties, it will also scare the foreign visitors away. This phenomenon happens because many selfish people simply throw rubbish into the river and causing the drainage being blocked, and rivers overflow.

I hope that you and I will work together in helping to conserve the environment, thus to build a better tomorrow.

Recently, my family and I went to Auckland, New Zealand to attend my cousin's wedding. When we arrived at Auckland, my father immediately requested my uncle to bring him to my uncle's house in Avondale (currently for sale). We were so impressed and fascinated with his house, we also felt that it was a waste to sell that beautiful house off.

After that, Uncle Willie took us to his house in Stonefields, Mount Wellington. When we step down from the car, WOW! This house looks even better than the old house, it was amazing and we could not get any better house than this in Malaysia. Once you see it, you will like it!

So when I came back to Malaysia, I did some research about Mount Wellington. The peak of the hill was situated at 137 metres above sea level. This volcanic hill was formed about 9000 years ago. At the base of the hill there was a fortified village. The hill pa was typically enclosed at the base by a stone wall, and beyond lay large huts and food pits. The chief’s hut and food plantation were called stone fields – New Zealand’s first garden.

In 1936, Winstones Limited established the Lunn Avenue Quarry, which operated until 2001. From the time the quarry began operating some 18 million cubic metres of rock was excavated. It is said half of all stone products used in Auckland City during that time were supplied by the Mount Wellington quarry. The single largest contract for concrete aggregate was 160,000m³ which was supplied to the Auckland Airport for the construction of the run way in 1963. In 2001 the Winstones Quarry was purchased by Landco Limited (Todd Property Group's former name) and the master planning process commenced.

The brilliant master plan was given an award from The NZ Institute Of Surveyors.

According to a local newspaper, Perodua will be launching Myvi Extreme around March or April this year that comes with a powerful 1.5 Litre Engine.

This Myvi Extreme will use the 2011 Toyota Passo's platform. The gear knob will be situated in the dashboard that is similar to the Perodua Alza.

Other than the Perodua Myvi Extreme, Perodua will also launch a new model in the second half of this year to achieve its sales record which is 195,000 units of new Perodua sold.

Euro NCAP's Best Performing Cars Of 2010

Euro NCAP announced the five best performing cars of 2010. To be selected as safest cars oftheir categories, these vehicles achieved a high overall score and attained the coveted five star rating.

Last year, Euro NCAP crash tested twenty nine vehicles, 65% of which reached the five star rating, compared to 90% in 2009. This decrease of 25% clearly shows that Euro NCAP’s criteria to reach a five stars are now tougher. While Euro NCAP’s poorest results of 2010 were achieved by the Citroen Nemo with three stars and by the Landwind CV9 which received only two stars, the top achievers by category are:

Executive category: BMW 5 Series

Small Family category: Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Supermini category: Honda CR-ZSmall off-road 4×4 category: Kia Sportage

Small MPV category: Toyota Verso

To be top achiever means that the car accomplished a high combined score based on the scores in each of the individual four areas of Euro NCAP’s assessment, while notably exceeding the minimal thresholds for a 5 star overall rating. In addition to the top five achievers, the Suzuki Swift, Kia Venga, BMW X1, VW Sharan/Seat Alhambra, Citroen C4 all exceeded the 80% mark in overall score putting them on the list of best performing cars of 2010.

Euro NCAP is now performing Electronic Stability Control tests as part of the overall assessment. Since 2009, Euro NCAP requires ESC systems to be fitted as standard and will from now on be measuring its performance when testing the vehicles. ESC is meant to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from crashes in which the driver loses directional control of the vehicle, including those resulting in vehicle rollover.

New Perodua Myvi 2011 Spotted!

Finally, the mysterious Perodua Myvi 2011 have been revealed, credit to someone who uploaded this picture in the internet.

This Myvi is expected to launch around May-June 2011 with the 1.5 DVVT Engine along with the existing 1.0 and 1.3 DVVT Engine. This new Perodua Myvi may be using the same engine as the Perodua Alza. The price shall not more than RM60k so that Perodua Myvi and Perodua Alza won't kill each other.

The new Myvi has also improved design of the Toyota Passo 2011 by adding in fierce front which is similar to Perodua Alza and a tough looking back which is quite similar to its old model. As you can see, the Myvi above does not have front fog lamp and sport rim, I suppose this is the basic variant of the Myvi facelift.

While looking at the spyshot pictures, why not take a glimpse at the Perodua concept car showcased during Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2010 recently.

This car was said to be the Perodua Myvi facelift model but why does it look different. There is possibility this concept car will become the Special Edition model while the normal Myvi will look exactly the same as the spyshot above.

My Singapore and Johor Bahru Trip (January 2011)

Last weekend, My family and I went to Singapore to collect a prize from SG Car Mart. The prize that I won was a DYNX Power Check. It functions as a car battery monitor so that you can change your car battery before it condemns.

On 8/1/2011, we woke up early, and departed for Johor Bahru at 4.30am. We arrived in Johor Bahru around 8am. Along the way, we also met a young Singaporean Malay couple. They were on their way back to Singapore from Genting Highland. They were riding a 1300cc motorcycle and they cruised 220 km/h along the way.

In Johor Bahru, we checked into Puteri Pacific Hotel which was a popular 4 star hotel in Johor Bahru. Since the hotel was situated near to the Kotaraya bus station, we decided to take the bus instead of driving into Singapore.

The process from Johor Bahru to Singapore took us 2 hours to reach Mac Pherson MRT station, which was the nearest MRT Station to Automobile Megamart in Ubi. After we collected our prize from SG Car Mart staff, Callista, we went to the food court inside the building for a quick lunch.

After that, we also took the opportunity to visit Toyota and Kia showroom which was situated not far away from the Automobile Megamart. We also took the opportunity to take a glimpse of the 2011 Kia Sportage which was not launched in Malaysia yet.

After that, we went to Orchard Road for some quick shopping and dinner before we went back to Johor Bahru. And the way back to Malaysia also took us 2 hours because of the traffic congestion.

On the second morning, we took our breakfast at the hotel restaurant. There were a wide variety of food served and the food tasted delicious. We were very satisfied with the meal.

At 12pm, we left Johor Bahru and stopped by at Port Dickson for a few hours before we continue our journey back home.

Dengue Fever Experience

Actually this speech that I prepared is for my public speaking in school. So, I would like to use this opportunity to share my speech with my fans titling "Dengue Fever"

Do you know what animal spread dengue to humans? You are correct. It is Aedes Mosquitoes..

Dengue is transmitted to human by the Aedes aegypti or more rarely the Aedes albopictus, both types of these mosquitoes feed exclusively during morning or evening.

Dengue fever is not contagious, so you can go near a dengue fever patient or even hug them without fear of getting the risk of dengue fever.

The disease symptoms are such as sudden onset of fever associated with headache, muscle and joint pains.

Dengue fever usually lasts about two to seven days. Clinically, the patient’s platelet count will drop until the patient recovers. If the platelet drops below 150,000 u, then dengue fever is suspected, and if the platelets to drop further till 100,000 u or below, then the dengue fever patients are required to be admitted to the hospital for intravenous infusion. Death may occur if internal bleeding is not controlled.

The “World Health Organisation” mentioned that some 2.5 billion people, or two fifth of the world's population, are now at risk from dengue and estimates that there may be 50 million cases of dengue infection worldwide every year. The disease is now endemic in more than 100 countries.

Here I would like to share my experience where I was infected with dengue fever in July this year.

My Dengue Fever started off with a very uncomfortable sleepless night. I had fever and general fatigue. The next day, I developed headache, coldness, nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting.

My father brought me to a nearby clinic to consult a doctor. The doctor said that I had normal virus infection. I was given with tablet Panadol and antibiotics, hoping that my fever would come down.

But three days passed, my fever continued, and new symptoms developed. I had backache. My face was very red and I had severe sore throat. I was so weak that I couldn’t even walk up the stairs to my bedroom all by myself. So my father immediately took me to the General Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The nurse there took a bottle of my blood to be analyzed at the laboratory.

On looking at the blood result, the doctor told us that I was most likely to had contacted dengue fever, because my platelet count was very low. I was given with Tablet Panadol and another course of antibiotics. He advised me to drink at least 3 litres of fluid daily.

The next morning, I went to General Hospital again to have another blood test. The laboratory result showed that my amount of platelet dropped further. The Doctor wanted me to have my blood tested every day until I recover.

6 days gone and 7 bottles of blood samples were taken, I finally recovered. I was so happy that I could get back to school again.

Before I end my talk today, I would like to appeal to the school authority and fellow school mates to keep our school compound clean. Make sure all the water bottles and containers are disposed in a proper place, so that aedes mosquitoes don’t have a slightest chance to breed.

During my Tokyo trip, I managed to try their Yoshinoya in Akihabara and Ginza. Their shop is famous for its beef rice. The taste was so delicious till I ate it for two times. I tried other chain stores who sells beef rice but doesn't taste as good as Yoshinoya's.

When I came back to Malaysia, I did some research and found out there is a Yoshinoya in 1Utama. So I went there, but it was not there and I found out all the three branches in Malaysia has closed. Does anyone know what happened to Yoshinoya in Malaysia?

Bangsar South City, The Sphere

Today, I went to Bangsar South City (The Sphere) to attend an event there. When I was walking around the place, I took out my phone (Nokia 5800 XM) to take a picture of my Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8E. Suddenly, I heard the security guard shouting at us from far away. He used the hand signal to ask us to stop taking picture. My dad was so frustrated.

So we walked downstairs. My uncle was standing near the spot where the security guard shouting at us. According to my uncle, the security shouted at us right after he received a phone call. So, we suspected that there were someone asking him to stop us taking photograph.

Later, we talked to the manager of HR department of the building. She said that there was no such thing that taking photograph was not allowed.

So whose fault was it???

I was taking the picture of my own car but not the premise or the business lots. This was my own car!!! I have the right to take the picture of my own car!! I paid RM110k for it!!!

After that, I purposely took the picture of my sister's Perodua Alza 1.5 EZi... And again, I saw the security guard walking towards me, but I went off...

The attachment above was the picture I took just now. Even the Volvo S40 2.4L belongs to my cousins!!!

Weird Dream - Kia Sportage 2011

Last night, I had a weird dream. I dreamt that I was in the Kia showroom. Then, suddenly I saw a 2011 Kia Sportage brochure. I quickly grabbed it and read it. It had three variants, two variants were 2.0 litre while another variant was 2.4 litre.

Inside the brochure, there was a price list. I could only remember the price for 2.4 litre. It was priced at RM121,606.22. It also came with 6 CD in dash changer. Early buyers would be given a Mc Donald voucher. Then, I woke up.

(5.416959,100.330764) This is the best char koay teow I have ever eaten during my trip in Penang. After eating the char koay teow, I suggest you to try out this cendol. Sorry for not updating my blog because i was busying preparing for my final exams. Recently, my family and I went to Penang Island for vacation.

If you go to Penang Island, Kayu Nasi Kandar must be listed in your "must eat' list. Although some people said that Line Clear Nasi Kandar taste better, but I haven't try the nasi kandar there. Kayu Nasi Kandar is situated in Bukit Jambul. They also have branches in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Chao Yang (SS2 Petaling Jaya) and few other places.

For me, this branch's nasi kandar is more delicious than their other branches in the mainland. Since we were busy at the time, we just "tapau" our nasi kandar with fried chicken and nasi kandar with mutton. The food was delicious although it was several hours later when we ate it.

Do try out if you visit Penang Island next time. It is situated in Bukit Jambul (5°20'12"N 100°17'34"E)

Everytime I go back to Port Dickson, I would definitely go and eat Senme Ice Kacang. The ice kacang was delicious and the taste was unique. I cant find any other stall that sells better ice kacang than this. The stall opens at 2.30pm and closes at 6pm.Beside the ice kacang stall, there is a stall that sells delicious roti canai. The roti canai was very crispy. They also sells nasi lemak.These stalls are situated at Port Dickson old market. Do try out these stalls when you visit Port Dickson next time.

My Hong Kong Trip

The mid year holidays had just started, so my parents decided to bring me to visit Hong Kong. This is my fifth time visiting Hong Kong. During the past visits, we would go to Hong Kong either by Malaysian Airlines or Singapore Airlines, but for this trip, we decided to take Cathay Pacific Airway to fly to Hong Kong because Cathay Pacific Airway have more comfortable seats.

Our flight departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5.40 pm and reached Hong Kong International Airport around 9.30 pm. Then, we took AEL (Airport Express Rail) that only took us 24 minutes to reach Kowloon Station. From there, we managed to take the free shuttle bus that brought us to the hotel. This time, we decided to stay at Cityview Hotel (formerly known as YMCA Hotel). At night, we walked to Mongkok to eat supper. We ate Hong Kong popular food such as "Chow Tau Foo" (Smelly Bean Curd) and "Ka Lei Yu Dan" (Curry Fish Ball).

On the second day, I woke up and found that I was not feeling well. I felt dizzy and I had a sore throat. After taking Panadol, I felt much better and we went to Kwun Tong to shop. The shopping mall was congested with people although it was Tuesday. The shopping mall was big and we managed to go to Jusco and Muji to buy something. On that night, I felt dizzy again and hardly went to sleep. Suddenly, the fire alarm was activated and my whole family were shocked. My father immediately called the reception to find out what had happened and was told by the receptionist that it was just a false alarm. Although it was a false alarm, the fire alarm warning signal was still activated and only ended about 2 minutes before my birthday.

On the third day, it was my birthday. We went to Garden Restaurant that was situated not far away from our hotel. The restaurant serves a variety of good Dim Sum, especially the "Char Siew Pau" (BBQ Pork Bun). Then, we went to Causeway Bay. We went to Sogo, Times Square and Ikea but we did not buy anything. Then, we took the tram to Jusco that was situated in Tai Koo. The place was quite a distance from Causeway Bay. The tram fare for adult was 2 HKD (Around RM0.90) while senior citizen or children would be 1 HKD (Around RM0.45). I bought a pair of Reebok shoe there. Then, we went back to hotel.

On the forth day, we went to Sha Tin. From Yau Ma Tei to Sha Tin, we need to switch from MTR to KCR. In Sha Tin, we went to New Town Plaza, which was the largest shopping mall in New Territory, Hong Kong, covering up to 49.4 acres. At night, we went to Avenue Of Stars, one of the 'must visit' place in Hong Kong. At night, you can see a lot of sky crappers showing their beautiful and attractive lights towards Avenue Of Stars.

On the fifth day, we went to Yung Kee Resaturant that was situated in Central for lunch. The restaurant was awarded for the best roast goose in Hong Kong. After that, we went to Tai Cheong bakery that sells best egg tart in Hong Kong. Then, we went to Lan Kwai Fong and Central Mid-level escalators before going back to Kowloon by taking Star Ferry. Then we rested for a while at the Avenue Of Stars before we went for last minute shopping at Sogo Tsim Tsa Tsui.

On the last day, after taking our breakfast, we took the shuttle bus to Kowloon AEL Station and from there we took AEL back to the airport. Our flight left Hong Kong at 3.05 pm and we reach Kuala Lumpur at 6.40 pm.

Vios, or “moving forward “in Latin was launched in April 2003. Two variants were launched at the same time. They were variant E and variant G. Since its launch, Toyota Vios had sold more than 100,000 units in Malaysia.

In 2005, the second generation Toyota Vios was launched.

The third generation Toyota Vios launched in October 2007 with a new theme, namely "My Design My Pride." At the same time, the latest variant which is S variant had been added to the family of Toyota Vios.

Variant S comes with MID (Multi Information Display) and Optiron Meter. In addition, variant S is fitted with sporty kit.

The "RAP"-tors are back!!! Raptors are bird of prey. They migrate annually from Japan/Siberia to the Jawa Island which is situated in the Indonesia. They come down to the southern part to avoid cold weather in their country of origins. After winter season, they will go back to their countries of origin to breed. During March, they will come over to the Peninsula Malaysia from the Sumatra Island. Raptors choose Tanjung Tuan as their path to go back to countries of origin because it is the closest landmass on Peninsular Malaysia from Sumatra which is around 26 km.

This annual event was organized by MNS (Malaysian Nature Society). This event was usually held during 1st or 2nd week of March. This event attracted many bird watchers from all over Malaysia and other countries such as Singapore, Phillipines, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan etc. Compared to last year, this event attracted more students this year. Thesestudent s were from Southern Region (Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor) and Sri KDU.

The raptors we saw most during these 2 days were mostly Oriental honey Buzzard. Other migratory raptors expected to see would be Japanese Sparrowhawk, Black Baza, Chinese Goshawk. If we are lucky enough, we may encounter Peregrine Falcons, Osprey, Black Kite, Harriers and other Buzzards too.

The number of raptors that passed by Tanjung Tuan this year dropped alot compared to last few years.

Perodua Alza Launched

The much-anticipated Perodua Alza MPV has arrived. The seven-seater Perodua Alza themed "Versatile As You" was launched on Monday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. This car was based on the Toyota Passo Sette/Daihatsu Boon Luminas, that is the extended version of Perodua Myvi. This MPV comes in two version. They are the Standard and Premium Version priced between RM55,000 to RM 64,000 while the Advance Version will be launched in March 2010, priced between RM66,000 to RM70,000.

After my 4 days trip to Penang, I took the opportunity to go to the Perodua Showroom in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, which is situated not far from my house, to witness the latest addition to the Perodua family. In the showroom, three models of Perodua Alza was exhibited. They were :

This MPV comes in a high performance 1.5L DVVT, DOHC with EFI engine that delivers excellent fuel economy that is as low as 14 cent per kilometer. What I like is the center seat that can be slided and can be folded in 7 modes. The sliding seat can make either center seat or 3-row seat passenger seat comfortably if there are only 5 passengers or 5 adult passengers plus 2 small passengers. But I do not suggest the 3rd row passenger seat to be used for long distance because our legs might be in pain or we do not have enough space to fill in our luggage.

My Sandakan Trip

During the Deepavali holiday, I went to Sandakan, which was situated at the Eastern part of Sabah. Sandakan is also commonly known as "Little Hong Kong" because of the design of the shop houses in the main town, you will feel like walking in Nathan Road.

Friday (16/10/2009)

My family and I took Malaysian Airline to Sandakan at 3pm. We reached there around 6pm but the sky was so dark and it was raining heavily. The airport design was so old that you felt like going back to the old days. The airport was just 13 km from the main town. We chose to stay in Swiss Inn Waterfront because it was convenience ( just right in the town) and the prices were reasonable. We had a steamboat buffet dinner at the Sails Cafe (next to Swiss Inn) . The steamboat dinner was included in the room rate. The hotel room was clean and modern and the views from the room were fascinating.

Saturday (17/10/2009)

After having our buffet breakfast at the Swiss Deli, we decided to walk around the city. Firstly, we walked to the Central Market which was very near to our hotel. Over there, one could find lots of dried shrimp at low price. Then, we decided to walk to the Tourist Information Center. When we reached there, the Tourist Information Center was closed because it was Deepavali Day. So, we proceed to find the museum which was situated beside the Tourist Information Center according to the map. We walked around few times and asked few locals. Nobody knew that there was a museum in Sandakan. But, when I turned back, I found out that I was standing outside the museum. We did not had a chance to visit because it was closed. We walked to the entrance of the 100 steps staircase entrance. The path was unmaintained and according to the taxi driver, the place was not safe because there were many people got robbed along the path to the hilltop. Nowadays, tourist rather use the main road which was much further than using the staircase. We met few police officers passed by and we asked them about the 100 steps staircase safety. The police said :" Ok lah, but beware a bit". We did not climb the stairs, so we went back to the main town. We had no other place to go. So, we went back to hotel. On the way back to hotel, we stopped by at Gentingmas Mall. It was a supermarket that sells much cheaper than other supermarkets in town. At night, we went to Sails Cafe for steamboat dinner. Sunday (18/10/2009)

We chartered a taxi to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. The feeding hours were 10am and 3pm. The entrance fee for Malaysians are RM5.00 and if you bring a camera into the park, fees of RM10.00 is chargeable. After seeing the orangutans being feeding, we went to RDC, which was situated no far away from Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. You need to pay RM5.00 entrance fee to enter the park. Inside there, there were a suspension bridge, a canopy walk and many more. After that, we went to a famous shop in 9th miles that sells delicious bread. And then, we went to Kampung Buli Sim Sim. Over there, you can find a lot of fresh seafood. Then, we went to Agnes Keith's House on the hilltop at Jalan Istana. There was also an Observatory Pavilion. From there, you can see the whole Sandakan town. After that, we went to the St. Micheal Church and St. Mary Church. Finally, we went back to our hotel.

Sabah, loacted at North Borneo, is the second largest state in Malaysia after the Sarawak State. Sabah is a state with rich wildlife, and the highest peak in South East Asia - the Kinabalu Mountain, is in Sabah. In this post, I will share my experiences during my trip to Sabah.

My parents, Uncle Ronnie and I travelled in MAS and landed in Kota Kinabalu. This time I was lucky because the airport was newly built. Then, we took a Proton Wira taxi to Promenade Apartments. There were two types of accommodations, which were the apartment and the hotel. The apartment was situated in Api-Api Centre. When we reached the hotel lobby, we need to walk quite a distance to our room.

This place was old, dirty and the maintenance was bad. We took a studio room. The place was situated beside Centre Point. We walked around K.K. and went to the Sunday Market. Then, we went back to the apartment and took a long nap. At night, we went to the Filipino Market.

We took a Proton Saga taxi at the taxi stand, and went to D'Villa Ria Lodge which was situated 800 metre from the Kinabalu Park entrance. The trip took us 1 hour 30 minutes to reach there. We took a two room chalet which was quite big. Then, we walked to the Kinabalu Park. We need to pay park fee to enter the park. For adult, we need to pay RM3 each, while children need to pay RM1 entry fee. The place was quite cold. The environment was nice but they did not maintain the place well. At night, we ate at the restaurant in the lodge. The price was reasonable although it was far from Kota Kinabalu town.

We walked around Kinabalu Park and later went to Kinabalu Pines Hotel in Kundasang. The place was quite a distance from the Kundasang town centre and the environment was nice. We went to the Bazaar Ramadhan in Kundasang Town. Then it rained. We had to take a Perodua Rusa van back to hotel.

We took a taxi down to Ranau town and headed back to Kota Kinabalu town. This time we stayed in Cititel Express Hotel instead of Promenade Apartments. The hotel was newly opened (1 week ago) and the hotel rooms were not fully open yet. We took a superior twin room. The room was too small (even smaller than Hotels in Hong Kong ). We did not expect the room to be so small because Kota Kinabalu was a big town, unlike Hong Kong and Singapore the lands were limited. We walked around K.K. town.

We walked around Kota Kinabalu town and went to Sabah Tourism Board. At night, we had our dinner with my father's friend, Dr. Sergius and his family.

We went to taxi stand and took a Toyota Innova taxi to The Tip Of Borneo and Kudat. The taxi was an eight-seater, so we had to share the taxi with three other people. The journey to Kudat took us around 3 hours. When we reach Kudat, the other three passengers went down and now left 5 people including the taxi driver.

After having our lunch at Kudat town, we went to The Tip Of Borneo. The place was not exactly situated in Kudat town but we need to take another 15km from Kudat town to there. It was named as The Tip Of Borneo because it was the Northeast part in the Borneo. The environment there was nice and the sea water was clear. No regret going there. Then, we went to the taxi driver's kampung before the Kota Belud town. After that, we went to Kota Belud to 'jalan-jalan' while the taxi driver broke fast (berbuka puasa) there. Finally, we went back to Cititel Express Hotel.

Our flight back to KLIA was at 5.35p.m. We had our lunch and took a Toyota Hi-ace to the airport. Then we went back to Kuala Lumpur.

This is a memorable trip for me. I enjoyed it very much.

Yesterday, I went to my uncle's durian orchard in Simpang Pertang. We went to Bahau to refill the petrol because the nearest Mobil Petrol Station was there. Behind the petrol station was the Perodua Showroom. I noticed a banner displayed at the fence of the showroom regarding launching of the new Viva

My Taiwan Trip (Part 3)

It was raining heavily the whole day. We couldn't go anywhere because of the rain. We decided to shop at the bookstore street just opposite the hotel.

After that, we decided to take the MRT to the DanShui Station which was popular with its "hong shu lin", that is the wetland. We was quite disappointed with the scenery while our train passes by the wetland.

We went to the fisherman wharf "yu ren ma tou" that was quite famous amongst the tourists. We took the bus from DanShui MRT station and the bus stopped at the Fisherman Wharf Market. There was a bridge across the sea to the shop lots and jetty selling local products and food. There was also another way accessible by car.

At night, we wanted to go to the "ShiLin" night market but the heavy rain changed our mind and we headed back to the hotel.

The "XiMenDing"

We went to the famous "XiMenDing", which was an area selling food and things for young people. We also took our opportunity to eat their local "o jian"(Oysters with Eggs). The food was not as good as we expected compared to that same food that we ate in the same shop 2 days ago.

At night, we took MRT to "JianTan" station and walked through the tunnel that led us to the Taiwan most popular food street, the ShiLin Nightmarket. The place was crowded with tourist and local people because of the delicious food that were available in the market.

The 1000 NTD taxi fare took us from our hotel to TaoYuan International Airport. We left Taipei around 7am and took Dragon Air to Hong Kong at 11am. From Hong Kong, we took Cathay Pacific Airways back to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

We took a Mitsubishi taxi and headed to See You Hotel, Taipei. The hotel was situated right beside the busy Chong Qing South Road. The hotel was just 5 minutes walk to the Taipei main station.

After a nice rest in the hotel, we decided to go to the world's tallest building, the 101 Tower, which was quite a distance away from City Hall MRT Station. We need to take a bus from City Hall MRT Station to to 101 Tower.

Saw the thing hanging on my body? That was the headphone provided for us to know more about the tower. Just press the code number provided on the wall, like the number "10" above my head.

At night, our tummy started to growl. We took a taxi to Tong Hua Street to eat "zheng chang tang pow", which was a shop selling delicious "xiao long pow". Then, we walked around the night market nearby and later took MRT back to the hotel.

We woke up early and took our breakfast at the Danti Cafe, which was provided by the hotel.

Then, we went to the S.Y.S. Memorial Hall or also known as "Shun Zhong Shan".

After that, we went to "Ding Tai Fung" Restaurant to eat the famous "xiao long pow"

Then, we went to Sogo Departmental Store which was situated in "Zhong Xiao Fu Xing" MRT Station.

We went to Taipei Zoo. The zoo was situated within walking distance to the MuZha Line MRT Station. Our main aim to go there was to see the cute and adorable two little panda, TuanTuan and YuanYuan. TuanTuan is the male panda while YuanYuan is the female panda.

From there, we took the MRT to "wufenpu", which is the most famous wholesale shops for cheap shirts. Before that, we came to a shop which sells delicious "RouGen" something like meatball but it is not in round shape.

My Taiwan Trip (Part 1)

This is my 1st time going to Taiwan. My parents and I took the Cathay Pacific Airline to Taipei Taoyuan Airport, transited at Hong Kong. Below was my experience in Taiwan. Hope you will enjoy.

30/5/09:
My parents and I left our house at 1.30pm and took ERL to KLIA. We reached KLIA at 3pm.

At 5.30pm, we walked through the skybridge into the Cathay Pacific Air and our flight was delayed for 20 minutes from the scheduled time. We finally reached Hong Kong at 9.45pm but we were quite rush because the flight gate to Taipei was closing at 10.35pm. Unlike my last trip to Hong Kong where we used skybridge, we had to take a bus that turn around the airport to reach the terminal, . We reached the terminal at 10.10pm and we ran through the body temperature scanning area. We had to rescan our baggage. We also need to take an "aerotrain" to the boarding gate. The time was running out and we managed to reach at the gate with 10 minutes to spare.

31/5/09:
We reached Taipei Taoyuan Airport at 12.40am. We took a Toyota Camry taxi to Holiday Inn Express Hotel. We checked into the hotel at 2.40am.

After a rest in the hotel, I woke up and saw my sister already in the hotel . She left Calgary,Canada earlier and reached Taipei at 5.40am. My sister and I had the breakfast provided by the hotel. Then, my family and I went to Chihu ( Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park). We took our lunch at a restaurant in Chihu.

We had our dinner at the Da-xi main street. In there, we saw many people surrounding the booth. The indian guy was selling naan and people there was so amazed to see that while here we dont usually eat it here.

Oh..exam is around the corner. Today during Moral Class, our class monitor said that our exam will be moving 1 week earlier... Mun Loong and I suddenly became freak, but we cooled down ourselves by thinking that it's only a joke by our class monitor...

Then, during History class, a girl came in (taking a stack of paper) looking for class monitor....Later on, our class monitor gave each of us an exam time table...

Looking at the time table, we realised that the exam was actually not moving foward, instead it would be postponed 2 days later from 18 May to 20 May...

Haziq and I were shocked because this exam will be held for 2 weeks....

A Trip To FRIM,Kepong

Today, I went to Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), which was situated in Kepong (beside Metropolitan Park) for bird watching...

At 6:30 in the morning, I woke up to prepare myself. About 6.50am, we left the hustle and bustle town and my father drove towards FRIM. After 20 minutes of driving, we reached the junction to FRIM but my father missed the junction, so we have to make a big turn in Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong... We reached FRIM around 7:40 am ( actually we were supposed to be there by 7:15 am)...

On arrival, I was so surprised to see so many people participating, includes families with young children.

There was a gate infront the entrance of FRIM and we were charged RM6.00 just to go into the park.

During the early part, I felt quite boring in the park because there were nothing much to do... But I felt more excited when we started jungle tracking with the birders group. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of battery, so I couldn't take any picture. Along the jungle track, there were so many cyclists riding on their mountain bikes.

The following is the video clip of a Blue-eared Kingfisher. This is a very rare bird. We were lucky to see it. It is different from the Kingfisher we often see in the parks in Kuala Lumpur.

Another video clip is the woodpecker. It was actually called the Crimson-winged Woodpecker.

About 11.00 am, our birding session was over and we "called it a day".

I was told the next bird watching session would be in Hulu Langat somewhere around end of next month.

On our way home, we went to Kepong Bahru to have our lunch... We ordered a "hot-plate Yee Mee", "clay-pot Lor Mee" and a roasted duck... The food there were not as good as we expected.

New Proton Exora

Yesterday after the wushu class, I went to a Proton Showroom in Bandar Sri Permaisuri to take a glimpse of the Malaysia's 1st MPV: Proton Exora... But the friendly manager said that we were not allowed to see the car before it was officialy launched by Dato Seri Najib, our new Prime Minister, at 9:00pm in KL Convention Center... He also asked us to come back then to see the Proton Exora...

9:30 p.m.
I went to the showroom with my father to see the Proton Exora...

But our Prime Minister had not officially launch the MPV yet, so my father and I waited there until 10.00pm... Such a long wait, we cannot tahan already... So we went back home with a lots of disappointment... I switched on the TV to see the live telecast of the launching ceremony through TV1... The launching ceremony were finally over around 10:30pm...

Next Day ( 16/4)
I went to the showroom again with my father... The showroom was crowded with people... But I managed to take a nice look at the Proton Exora... This car have seven comfortable leather seats, DVD player with LCD screen, Campro CPS engine, side mirrors, indicator light, ABS, EBD, GPS (Naivgator) and the most important thing: Dual Airbags... The price are reasonable too...1.6 liter automatic medium-line at RM69,998.00 (on-the-road price with insurance) while 1.6 liter automatic high-line at RM75,998 (on-the-road price with insurance) ...This car also come with stylish front design and the doors were more solid than other Proton models... I made a comparison with the Proton Saga beside the Proton Exora and I was quite pleased with the improved quality of the doors... After 35 minutes, I went back home that was situated within walking distance from the showroom...
